It seems that Bolt Scale, which has been gaining a bit of popularity lately, is being released one after another. (Is this in anticipation of the end of the fiscal year?)

I developed this with the hope that it would help improve my own construction management, even just a little, but,

I hardly ever get a chance to use that bolt scale. Haha.

At Enta, we have a comprehensive system in place that allows us to handle everything from design modifications to construction management, construction, and completion documentation all in one go.

But lately, the installation services have been selling well, while I personally haven't been selling much lol.

I'd like to use a bolt scale, but a lot of my recent jobs have been construction sites where I'm just putting out fires.

I'm just thinking we should focus on tackling those urgent, last-minute firefighting situations, lol.

Construction Management for Anchor Work

The anchor's approach to managing stress the other day really got me thinking.

That’s because I used to think that anyone could handle construction management for anchor work.

In fact,I dig a hole, put in an anchor, and feel nervous.

That's it. That's all there is to it. It's abnormal that something like this—where it just keeps getting pulled out—would happen.

What's so unusual about this? Didn't they realize what it was while they were drilling?

That's the point.

When it comes to drilling, the key things to keep track of during construction management are asking the operator for updates and monitoring the progress.

Soil that gives way suddenly is especially scary.

It’s somehow reassuring to know that even though the free section moves along quickly, the set section ends up being quite firm.

Even if drilling fluid doesn't come up in the free section, you can rest assured as long as it comes up in the anchored section.

A mountain that lets you drill right through it without any resistance is actually kind of scary.

I mean, an experienced surgeon would probably sense that something’s off or wrong.

It’s important to discuss this with the supervisor and review the column diagrams.

If you neglect those things and just go full steam ahead, you'll end up missing a lot of things...

There’s actually a lot you can learn even while drilling. The operator keeps a close eye on the pressure gauge, after all!

If you notice anything unusual

As soon as we notice something unusual, we'll consult with the general contractor.

After that, we'll have a meeting with the government official in charge.

This is extremely important.

As a professional, detecting abnormalities really does require experience and knowledge.

In the most extreme cases, consult with the local government office to obtain written instructions.

Doing so also allows you to avoid taking responsibility.

This allows us to clearly identify who is responsible for construction.

This is a very important point in construction management, so please be sure to remember it.

Since that's all there is to it, it looks simple at first glance.

And there are plenty of contractors who say, “We can install rock bolts. We can install anchors, too.”

It's like, "You can rest assured because we do the construction ourselves," right? lol

Contractors who cut corners (or take shortcuts) are particularly prone to this tendency.

I know of plenty of projects that ended up being a real mess. And then they say, “We couldn’t get it done, but please pay us anyway,” lol.

I'm sure there are lots of people reading this blog who are thinking, "Yeah, that's so me!!" lol

They really are an amazing specialized first-tier subcontractor.

All in all, major specialized companies are really impressive.

Knowledge, skills, funding,No matter which one you pick, they're all amazing!

They perform their work at a reasonably consistent level, and their ability to handle unexpected situations is a cut above the rest.

It's actually possible to search for and bring in people from all over the country.

From the general contractor's perspective, it provides a great sense of security.

We have all kinds of machines!

Anchor installation and rock bolting are specialized construction processes.

As expected, this is a type of work that requires specialized skills and knowledge.

If this case had involved a professional contractor, they would have realized this a little earlier, and

I think the precautions were thorough.

This was a job site where I truly realized how important a construction manager is.
