There are different installation angles for ground anchor work, right?
For example, if the design drilling angle is 35 degrees and the slope angle on the pressure plate side is 55 degrees, the total angle is 90 degrees, so installation under tension is easy.
The basic principle when you're tense is to pull straight and secure it straight. (Strictly speaking, an angle of ±5 degrees or less at the head is acceptable. P98)
What about this scenario, where the drilling angle is 25 degrees and the slope on the pressure plate side is 55 degrees?
25 degrees + 55 degrees = 80 degrees
It's 10 degrees short of 90 degrees.
That's why there's an angle-adjustable base—for times like that.
I guess "Kakudo-kun" is the one I use most often?
Well, it varies by manufacturer, so I can't make a blanket statement, but you can adjust the angle by up to 20 degrees by rotating it 10 degrees up and 10 degrees down.
It looks something like this.
However, this applies only to the vertical angle.
What would happen if we added a horizontal angle of 10 degrees here?
Let's say the vertical angle is 25 degrees and the horizontal angle is 10 degrees.
As with the previous settings, the angle of the compression plate relative to the vertical is 55 degrees.
55 degrees + 25 degrees = 80 degrees
That means it's 10 degrees off vertically and 10 degrees off horizontally.
The composite angle is 20 degrees short.
The question is, "How would you adjust this using Kakudo-kun?"
The bottom line is, it's not possible.
Although Kakudo-kun has a maximum angle of 20 degrees, set the base below to a vertical angle of 10 degrees.
If the upper base is set to a horizontal angle of 10 degrees, the angle of the lower base will be half that value.
When adjusting by rotating the upper base around the lower base as an axis, the angle is 20 degrees when the thickest points are aligned.
When you combine the thick and thin parts, the total is ±0 degrees.
If the upper base is tilted horizontally by 10 degrees, the angle of the lower base will likely be half that.
And it's facing in a weird direction, too.
This means that Kakudo-kun alone can't handle situations like this.
