When You Mess Up the Precise Head Position of a Tie-Down Anchor (Part 2)

The rain we had the other day—our first in a while—made my pollen allergy symptoms a lot better, but,

As it gradually gets warmer, things are probably going to turn into hell, lol.

If only there weren't any pollen, it would be perfect...


But that's beside the point.

This is a continuation of my previous post.

We take a very strict approach to installing the head unit.

As shown in the figure below, the protrusion varies depending on the thickness of the compression member.

Be sure to check the thickness of the load-bearing plate and manage the projection of the apartment building.

Head Apartment Building

You might think it’s generally best to follow the design as intended, but there’s actually a pitfall here.

Especially when there’s just one wire, like in this diagram, it tends to stretch quite a bit.

With that in mind, installing it about 1–2 cm lower can sometimes result in a nice, neat fit.

 

That means you need to understand the theoretical performance gains before installing it.

Please be sure to do the calculations.

Load-bearing plate + angle adjustment base (if necessary) + reinforcing steel plate + amount of elongation during installation = amount by which the head protrudes

And, just to confirm,As long as it's shorter than the depth of the cap, it's fine.

Too Many Apartment Buildings

What if the apartment building sticks out too far, as shown in the figure above?

Since the apartment building has PC steel strands embedded within its structure, cutting it could cause the building itself to collapse.

Therefore, cutting is not permitted.

As a countermeasure, it’s probably safest to just raise the structure that’s under pressure, lol.

Since it would be very difficult to lift the load-bearing plate itself, you can add another steel plate as reinforcement.

Few people leave the apartment building

Now, let's consider a situation where the condominium has few units.

In a situation like this, where the mountain is sliding down, this is what happens when the mountain pushes forward.

Also, if the anchor body slips down due to some kind of mistake, this is what happens!

    If the back side is soil rather than mortar or the junction of the formwork, it’s pretty tough to manage the protrusion, isn’t it?
    I went ahead and bought some waterproof chalkboard markers right away ^_^ I'm looking forward to using them ^_^

      Managing expenses is really tough, isn't it!
