Thoughts on Rust at the Construction Site (Part 1)
Continuing from last time, what should we do about this rust?

I'll explain what steps you should take.
Reinforcement Measures
There's nothing I can do about the rusted items, so what should I do with this one?
Let's think about that.
First, remove the nut and take off the plate.
Check what the back looks like.
Check for gaps (if any, fill with mortar)
1. Remove rust from the rebar (using an angle grinder or a chemical agent)
2. Apply a rust-preventive coating (in this case, the same epoxy)
3. I want to ensure a nice, thick coat, but since there are issues with the nut fitting properly, I’ll keep it to a reasonable thickness.
4. Since failing to use a cap could result in ongoing maintenance costs, we’ll address this issue by using a cap.
5. It doesn't necessarily have to be an oil cap. As long as it isn't exposed to wind and rain, it's fairly resistant to rust.
6. Make sure the bottom of the cap is properly sealed with caulk.

When you think about it, it really does come down to the strength of the electroplating process, doesn't it?
To be honest, I'm not really a fan of caps, but,
For items like this that are already rusted, is paint the only option besides replacing the cap?
That's the general idea, but since paint has its limits, it's probably better to just cover it up physically.
Anyway, the UV rays are really strong!
I wonder if there are any products that don't rust because of this light? lol
