Have you ever heard of a set screw?
This is it.
They're often attached to our drilling machines and sprayers.
What the heck is this?
I'm sure some of you are thinking, "What's the big deal?" but this is actually very important.
Our machines vibrate due to engines, motors, and other components.
When that happens, the bolt and nut come loose. (Well, that goes without saying.)
Critical parts must never be loose. Doing so significantly increases the risk of accidents and other incidents.
That's when this set screw comes in handy.
This part is an accumulator, and it contains nitrogen gas (which is added later).
Attach the rubber gasket and close the accumulator.
If it comes loose due to vibration, it could start to explode because there is gas inside.
For that reason, this is a part that absolutely must not come loose.
You tighten the main screw, then insert the set screws from the side to secure the main screw in place.
It may seem like just this small thing, but it’s a very important point.
Sometimes, there are instances where the main bolt just won't come loose.
In such cases, please take a close look at the sides of the bolt.
There might be a set screw inside!
