Hello, everyone.
This is Enta.
I was talking to a company president the other day, and—
A Story About a Girls' Bar in Nagoya

There are lots of girls soliciting customers on the street and independent street promoters in Nagoya’s entertainment district.
Basically, almost all of them are rip-offs, so if you're reading this blog, make sure you don't go with them!
I'm totally fine with izakayas, but places with girls are a no-go.
If you're ever out for drinks in Nagoya's Nishiki district, either ask someone you know to introduce you to a place, or send me an email lol.
I won't accompany you, but I can recommend some safe places.
So, when it comes to the prices at those girls' bars, they generally have a reputation for being really cheap, right?
That's right. The cover charge is super cheap.
Cover charge: 3,000 yen
This area hasn't changed at all since the old days, has it? (I haven't been there more than a few times, so I'm not really sure.)
Girls' bars have become quite well-known these days, haven't they?
This is especially true given that some pretty serious incidents have occurred in this industry.
And speaking of money,
One drink for a woman costs 8,000 yen
And then, for some reason, when it came time to pay...TAX30%!!
("Tax" refers to the service charge.)

I know some of you might not quite understand this, but,
For example, I’ll just walk into a girls’ bar and take a seat.
At that stage, 3,000 yen to start with
Girl: "Can I have a glass?"
Slope Worker: "Sure." *grins*
Girl: "Thank you. I'd like some oolong tea, please~"
A small cup of oolong tea is served.
Slope Worker: "Mmm, mmm~" *grins*
At this stage,
3,000 yen + 8,000 yen + 30% tax = 14,300 yen
If you were to pay by credit card instead of cash here,
A 10% to 20% credit card processing fee will be added to this lol
Suppose the bar is slow, and three girls come in and ask, “Can we have a drink?” If they each have three drinks, that comes to 24,000 yen.

That really freaks me out, lol.
That's how bad it is.
You might all think this is impossible, but it's true lol
It might be even more expensive if you go to Tokyo or Osaka.
As a countermeasure, if you just say, “Go drink some water,” it’ll only cost you 3,000 yen, but the girls will all turn on you in an instant.
If you're going to talk about customer service, you've got to pay for it, lol. Especially at nightclubs.
Actually, if you're going to a place like that, you're better off going to a snack bar!
There are some high-end clubs, but they're expensive! Way too expensive!!!
For an old guy like me, snack bars are definitely the best. Other than that, it’s drinking at home.
I think things like this are going to become more and more common in the future.

Here are the bankruptcy trends through June of this year.
People have been saying that we’ll easily surpass last year’s figures, and we’ve already surpassed them.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, bars have been closing left and right, the number of customers has been dropping, prices have been skyrocketing, and the number of rip-off establishments—like girls’ bars—has been on the rise.
It's an industry where there's no such thing as trust—it's all about making a quick buck.
We're seeing more and more of these kinds of stories in the construction industry as well.
The number of scammers—such as those involved in roofing tile scams and home renovation scams—who try to swindle people out of their money in a single blow is steadily increasing.
It's definitely going to increase even more from here on out!
Statistics show that crimes like this tend to increase when the economy takes a turn for the worse.

It could happen to us as public-sector entities as well.
Invoices for work that isn't in the design or wasn't contracted for?!
Like, "I got hurt on purpose" (that used to happen a lot back in the day)
It looks like we're heading toward a world where there will be more and more of those troublemakers who walk the fine line between legality and crime...
We can't compete with contractors who quote ridiculously low prices right off the bat, but I wonder what the general contractor's plans will be going forward.
I have a feeling there are going to be more and more strange things happening from now on.
Let's all be careful, too.
See you later.
