The rain is causing the project to fall further and further behind schedule.
How are things going at your workplace?
That tends to happen with construction projects that involve earthwork, doesn't it?
When it comes to earthwork on slopes, you’ll inevitably end up doing single-cut excavation and the like, but if you try to excavate carelessly on a rainy day, the slope could collapse.
Also, when transporting dirt, the dump trucks end up dragging mud along the road, so we have to wash it down lol.
Considering all that trouble and effort, it’s better not to have the work done.
But the burden usually falls on the slope contractors, doesn't it?
That's so hard!
I guess the director is probably watching the production process with bated breath, lol.
However, since this is how things have turned out, we have no choice but to move forward, so let's figure out where we can save time.
For example, a formwork carpenter.
How many people does it take to put it together!?
This is what determines whether it can be shortened.
As a rebar inserter,
Can you work on the head from the back?
Can you install two units?
It's the same for anchor workers, too.
Next up is the assembly and dismantling of the scaffolding.
For rope workers, it's all about how fast they can drill anchor holes, right?
Each trade has its own critical points.
No matter how hard you try, this type of work doesn't change that much.
So, let's try to get the other stuff done quickly, or something like that.
In the worst-case scenario, I'll end up working only one hour of overtime a day.
However, during the hot season ahead, it’s going to be tough except for first thing in the morning.
The director needs to take that into account when planning the project schedule.
Managing the construction schedule during a prolonged rainy season like this is really tough.
I think both the supervisor and the general contractor tend to get frustrated, but in the worst-case scenario, we might have no choice but to consider extending the construction schedule due to the prolonged rain...
