Pressure Gauge Maintenance | Maintaining the Accuracy of Measuring Instruments

Lately, I've been out in the field drilling holes myself.

We're that busy and short-staffed.

We currently have six projects underway at our company involving slope stabilization, anchors, and rock bolts.

I guess I'm really starting to hit my limit, lol.

Plus, it seems the machine that’s been running nonstop is starting to show signs of wear and tear, so it looks like this is going to cost a lot of money!

Since machines work quietly, let's make sure to maintain them properly!

So, this time, we'll be doing maintenance on the pressure gauge.

 

The pressure gauges on drilling machines and the like are designed to handle vibration.

So, this product contains glycerin.

As this deteriorates, the color can fade, and debris can get inside.

So, this time I filmed a video on restocking!

My videos are all one-take shots with no editing or anything, so it's really hard!!!

 

I try my best not to make mistakes, but I still mess up pretty often.

So, I’ve messed up a bit this time too, but please just chalk it up to my charm, lol.

Refill the pressure gauge with glycerin when the level has dropped to less than half.

Normally, the basic procedure is to first remove the pressure gauge and then inject the fluid while keeping the hose straight!

If you skip this step, you'll end up with a half-hearted start, just like in the video!

If you insert it straight, it'll fit just like new!

 

Glycerin is sold at major drugstores and other retailers, but it's quite expensive.

The same goes for pressure gauges.

Lately, it's really convenient to just get everything from Amazon and MonotaRO, isn't it? lol
