Construction work near power lines and other such structures requires a great deal of caution.

Electric utility companies specify a minimum distance that must be maintained.

In particular, for power lines carrying 10,000 volts or more—the kind we see every day—the rule is to stay at least 3 meters away from the top of the line.

Apparently, just getting close to power lines can cause an electrical discharge and result in an electric shock. (This is described in the link below.)

Actually, there is a fee for installing this protective conduit in the Tokyo Electric Power Company service area.

Apparently, even that protective tube costs money!!

Chubu Electric Power is free. So I didn't even think twice about it.

That's a surprise.

It is best to submit the application for pipe installation at least two weeks before construction begins.

Taking early precautions is crucial for both safety and progress on the job!
