As slope maintenance workers, we’re out working outdoors whether it’s scorching hot in the summer or freezing cold in the winter, right?
Why do you work?
For my family, and for myself.
I love my job.
I like myself when I'm working.
I want money.
I imagine there are various reasons for that.
All of these are correct.
I think that's fine.
Any reason will do, though, lol.
Or maybe there's someone you'd like to work with.
But what happens if there's no money involved here?
Or if you were living beyond your means
In a typical line of thinking, you'd borrow money
or something like that
I think people tend to think about saving money.
But what happens if you can't even do that?
Below is an illustration of how your mindset changes depending on whether you have money or not.
I think that when you have some financial leeway or are in a stable situation, your mindset tends to fluctuate around the middle (between yellow and white).
When you're short on money, your thinking shifts sharply to the right. (R Zone)
When people find themselves unable to eat tomorrow or buy the things they need to feel fulfilled, they start to have negative thoughts.
As for what happens with this negative way of thinking,
It's actually pretty easy to imagine, but,
That's a crime.
Riots by the poor are also common overseas.
This is, after all, why people raid stores or attack others—to alleviate their anxiety about not knowing what tomorrow will bring. (And for other political reasons as well.)
It is said that poverty breeds aggression.
I heard that a while back, someone at our company was stealing and selling company equipment just to get money to buy drugs.
Well, just the fact that they're doing drugs is pretty bad, lol.
Living beyond his means while abusing drugs (with a prior criminal record)
I think they were quite hostile toward me back then.
This isn't really the same as being poor, though lol (it's just to satisfy my desires).
That person is still in the same industry, so be careful!
I'm sure this happens at your company, too.
This means there is a very high likelihood that people like that will join the company in the future. (Excluding drug users.)
That's because, due to the "2025 Problem," companies will be going bankrupt left and right, and there will be a flood of people who are capable of working but have no company to work for.
People who aren't up to the task may have a hard time finding a job.
Companies aren't stupid, so they wouldn't just hire just anyone.
However, on the other hand, people like that will likely end up working for staffing agencies or regular employment agencies that provide labor.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it's easy to end up at companies like that. (This is a fact, not a prejudice.)
Having work means we'll be contracting with that kind of company more often.
That goes without saying, but it also means that the risk of theft and other incidents increases.
There is also a risk that incidents like workers' compensation fraud will increase. (Have we gone back to the Showa era!?)
Let's be very careful on our way there!!
It's no exaggeration to say that when salaries are low, employees tend to be more aggressive, lol.
You often hear about business owners who pay low wages but do nothing but complain, right?
And I believe that, to prevent that from happening, management (the company) must carefully evaluate employees' salaries.
It’s only natural that there’s a difference between people who bring profit to the company and those who don’t, though.
But raising the overall standard is important!!
I hope that by significantly raising wages, the slope construction industry will become a sector that’s a little different from other industries.
If you want to make a lot of money, become a slope worker!
That used to be the norm, after all!!!! (About 25 years ago, when I first entered the industry)
However, I believe the situation is different for technical interns.
