I heard an amazing story the other day, but,
"The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Construction is currently"I'm even printing out photos!"
Isn't this a surprise!?
You mean separate from the electronic submission? lol

The reason this topic came up is that last year, I was working on-site as a first-tier subcontractor for our company, but,
Printing the photos the general contractor requested when preparing the completion documents for that project!
Even though the digital delivery of the more than 1,000 photos was technically complete,
If you're going to print them, you'll need to make an album, right?
I thought electronic submission would be a breeze, but who would’ve thought it would end up being a full print job!! lol
During the inspection, the inspector flips through the paper documents while licking his finger...
(I absolutely hate it when inspectors touch the documents I worked so hard to put together with their licked fingers lol)
Hey, wait a minute! Where'd Construction CALS go??
I've never even heard of that area, even on a national scale, lol.
How about your prefecture?
Are you still printing on paper?
Personally, I thought there weren't any prefectures or municipalities like that anymore.
In Tokyo, I heard the same thing from the Agriculture and Forestry Office, lol (though I don't know if it's true).
By the way, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Construction’s “Guidelines for Using the Construction Information Sharing System” actually does exist, lol.
Ultimately, the government just can't keep up with everything that's being done under national guidance.
Even with Construction CALS, even though we took photos with digital cameras and submitted them electronically, the inspections were still paper-based.
Back then, I remember thinking, "What's that?"
I guess things have improved now, and the tests are done on computers, right? (I don't know of any prefectures where that isn't the case, lol)
What about digital transformation in the construction industry?
Are you working on improving efficiency??

Can Construction ICT Solve the Labor Shortage??
In reality, it takes time to implement.
Private contractors are forced to do it without any say in the matter.
But in the end, the government just can't keep up.
Even if the private sector takes out loans to buy the necessary equipment and get things up and running, the government doesn't seem to have a clue about it lol
It’s all too common for clients to end up unable to use the as-built models, even after drone surveying and point cloud processing, isn’t it?
Well, this effect might not become apparent for several decades, but,
To think that even now, in the early days of Construction DX, there are still local governments that haven’t established a Construction CALS system...
At this point, is it just negligence on the part of the government, or is there simply not enough government staff?
Personally, though, I just can't help but think there aren't enough government offices.
It goes without saying that having more government officials should lead to better public services, lol.
Going forward, we will leverage IoT to advance construction CALS, ICT, and DX...
Businesses are already investing and working hard to make the most of it!
Actually, I wish government agencies would make more use of it, too ^^
