It's Sunday today—how are you doing? lol

I spend half my time working and the other half playing with my kids or playing video games.

You're sneaking in some work that you don't usually get around to doing on weekdays, aren't you?

On the contrary, there’s never a time when I do absolutely nothing!

I feel more at ease when I'm doing something.

I guess I'm a total workaholic. Haha.

What Is a Workaholic?

I'm guessing that most presidents of subcontracting companies like mine are probably the same, aren't they?

Working actually makes me feel at ease.

All sorts of things happen—good, bad, and weird.

So, when I'm feeling really anxious, working actually helps me calm down.

Instead of worrying, “Is this okay? Is that okay?” it’s better to just throw yourself into your work—it takes your mind off things.

There are some things that are just hard to say, you know~

 

Come to think of it, I’m actually working more now than I did when I was a salaryman.

Until I was about 27, I worked so hard that people called me a "corporate slave," lol.

After that, I worked on-site for a while after going independent, but eventually I moved away from the field and shifted almost entirely to office work.

I’d go out to check on job sites while handling office work, or head out to help out at sites that were short-staffed.

Even after I finish work on-site, I still get requests for estimates and design work, so I handle them in the evening.

Is it because I really like my job, or because of a sense of duty that tells me I have to do it? Is that what keeps me going?

That said, I do take plenty of breaks, so it’s not really a burden, lol (Is that the problem?)

 

I think this blog is also a way for me to unwind.

I just write whatever comes to mind—the good and the bad.

Writing can help me calm down, and it also helps me sort out my problems.

The same goes for notes on failures.

At first, this blog was all about, “I’m going to expose the entire slope construction industry!”

Before I knew it, the focus had shifted to construction methods and technical matters, and I found myself answering questions and addressing concerns.

It’s taking on various forms, such as writing about examples of successful and failed construction projects.

The blog I started as a hobby has become part of my job, and before I knew it, I was writing every day.

The workload just keeps piling up, doesn't it? (laughs)

"I love my job" = "slope construction," which means...

So, you really do like slope stabilization work, don't you!
