We're servicing the machinery that's been brought in from the job site.
Here's something strange: when it comes to mechanical maintenance, Vietnamese people start by stripping the paint off.
There are some spots that are rock-hard with cement slurry, so while it’s unavoidable that some paint will come off when I chip away at those areas, I end up stripping off all the paint lol.
Strip everything down to bare metal, then wash it once with a high-pressure washer and wash it again with paint thinner to remove any oil.
Next, apply a rust-preventive coating.
To finish, I'll spray on my usual pink. I'll apply two coats.
It takes about four days to get here.
The Vietnamese workers are getting the hang of it, so they're getting faster and faster, but it's funny that they have to repaint it every time lol.
Since I had to adjust the hammer assembly and replace the gasket this time, I took the hammer apart all the way, so I ended up cleaning the rail as well lol.
Well, I suppose there aren't many companies that would take it this far down for maintenance just to replace consumables.
It’s partly because I’m free this week, lol
I have another project starting next week, so I plan to finish this one by the end of this week or next week.
Come to think of it, it would be nice to have a period of about three weeks a year when I’m not so busy.
It’s really helpful that we can do all the machine maintenance at once like this, so we can replace the machine’s consumables too.
Having too much free time is a problem, though, lol.
In fact, this is a time when site supervisors—whether they’re waiting for inspections or have just finished them—can support their junior and senior colleagues, and in some cases, even take an extended vacation.
You'll be recharging your batteries from February through March, and then things will gradually get busier again starting in April, right?
