The Joy of Making Needle Bearings on a Lathe

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Needle Bearing

I made the needle bearings for the drilling machine.

It's that thing on the hammer part of the Koken Kogyo RPD-130C! lol (Those in the know will get it lol)

What do you think?

This is just a video of me carving.

Actually, I really love spinning games! lol

My favorite thing is the spinning of the washing machines at the laundromat.

I love just staring at it for a long time.

I could just keep watching until the laundry's done, lol.

When I was a kid, I used to stare at the twin-tub washing machine.

And this time, while I was looking at the lathe, I thought, “I want to watch this for a long time!” so I decided to film a video.

Actually, this video is about 20 minutes long in total, but I don't think many people would want to watch the whole thing if I posted it, so I've edited it down quite a bit lol.

If you want to see more, come visit me lol

For now, I'll trim the entire piece to size, drill a hole in the center, and tap the hole.

Thread Cutting, Tap

Use a tap to cut the threads. Since any misalignment will ruin the result, press down firmly on the center while cutting the threads in a straight line.

That's it, then.

If you want to try your hand at lathe work, feel free to stop by our place and give it a go lol

See you later.

Projects like this are really deep and fun!

If you buy it, it costs tens of thousands, but if you make it yourself, it costs just a few thousand yen.

That said, there are those who argue that since making it requires a certain level of skill, it ends up being cheaper to just buy it! But,

"It's more fun to make it yourself!"—that's priceless!!
