The Right to a Nap | Breaks in the Construction Industry

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Jobs keep coming in one after another, and I still haven't gotten the hang of the construction management system we started using this year—I'm still drowning in all the data entry lol.

Plus, I work late into the night, so my afternoon nap after lunch is a must!

I know I should work during my lunch break, but I’m just so sleepy that I end up sleeping until 1:00 p.m.—don’t you kind of feel guilty about that?

Go to sleep

Do you know how beneficial naps are?

Research has shown that a 1.5-hour nap at noon can be just as effective as a full night’s sleep.

But if you sleep that much during the day, you'll have trouble falling asleep at night, won't you?

Especially us old guys, lol

So let's make the most of REM and non-REM sleep!

REM sleep occurs shortly after you fall asleep, and about 30 minutes later, you enter non-REM sleep (a deep sleep state).

Since you need to avoid entering non-REM sleep, it’s best to keep your nap to about 20 minutes.

About 20 minutes, taking into account the time it takes to fall asleep and REM sleep duration (this varies by individual)

During that time, I'll set my cell phone to silent.

Since work starts at 1:00 p.m., I'd like to be awake by 12:50 p.m.

If I finish lunch by 12:25, I can start my nap at 12:30, right?

And as for that guilt you feel about taking a nap—just go ahead and sleep without worrying about it lol

That's because, unlike working hours, break time is not paid.

This constitutes a legal right for workers.

Please take your time in enforcing these rights.

Time

However, since work at the site starts at 1:00 p.m., we’ll finish getting ready by 12:59 p.m. and start at 1:00 p.m.

It doesn't matter whether I get ready 5 minutes early or not—as long as I can start work at 1:00 p.m., everything is fine.

Please be aware that if you are unable to start work at 1:00 p.m., you may be reprimanded.

However, if employees assert their rights too strongly, employers will take a tougher stance.

We're all in the same boat there, so let's not take it too far, lol.

Well, for the reasons mentioned above, please feel free to take it easy during your lunch break.

And then I can just work my butt off again starting in the afternoon.

Rest well and work hard.

See you later.

P.S. I had completely forgotten about a request for a quote from a local government, but I found it the other day while looking for some other documents.

I'm really sorry. The deadline had already passed lol (The deadline was sometime last week.)

Please bear with me—I'm rushing to post this on Monday...

Of course, I'll just say I forgot...

I'm really sorry.
