Trying Out the MAX Rebar Tying Machine in a Formwork Frame! Part 2 | Ease of Use

Today, I’m going to take a look at the running costs of the MAX rebar tying machine I mentioned the other day!

I'd like to calculate the amount spent using this under the 300 legal limit.

Let's say we used it to assemble 1,000 m² of rebar with a legal limit of 300.

First, regarding the extent of the tying: let’s assume it’s done at all points along the hoop reinforcement.

Number of hoop reinforcing bars

I suppose it depends on the manufacturer, but this time there are seven hoop reinforcing bars.

The tie-off points are located at all hoop reinforcement bars in the formwork frame: 7 points × 4 points = 28 points.

Assuming the reinforcing bars are D13 and the hoop bars are about 3 mm, we will use the minimum value of D13 × D13 from the table above.

For tie wire (a specialized binding wire), use TW1060T-EG(JP) galvanized wire (wire diameter: 1.0 mm).

Based on the table above, we expect to be able to use it about 265 times, but we’ll cap it at about 80 percent of that number.

240 × 0.8 = 192 (Volume 1)

Excel File for Ordering Materials

I ran the calculations using the Excel sheet for ordering materials that I created earlier. (All you have to do is enter the data.)

Vertical frames + horizontal frames = 372 + 390 = 762 sheets

762 sheets × 28 locations =21,336 locations

Number of intersections in the legal framework = 403 locations × 4 (all vertical and horizontal intersections combined) =1,612 locations

Main Anchor =403 locations

Auxiliary Anchor =1,170 locations

If we add all of these together,

24,521 locations connected

This is just a rough estimate, lol.

 

Since you can form 192 bonds in Volume 1,24,521 locations ÷ 192 times per volume = 128 volumes

Each box contains 30 rolls and has a list price of 12,800 yen (excluding tax)

12,800 yen ÷ 30 pieces per roll = 427 yen per roll

128 volumes ÷ 30 boxes = 4 boxes and 8 items

4 boxes × 12,800 yen + 8 volumes × 427 yen = 51,200 yen + 3,416 yen =54,616 yen per 1,000 m²

A cost of 55 yen per meter

That's how it turned out.

 

I think the video from the day before showed a comparison of 1,000 bundles.

I'd like to use that as a reference to come up with a figure.
