The other day, I was talking with the head of a major firm, and we discussed what the future holds for this industry.
That kind of thing, lol
Well, everything from the government's stance to forecasts for prime contractors and subcontractors going forward, and so on.
Going forward, not only will labor shortages intensify, but the shortage of supervisors will also intensify.
However, since construction can’t proceed without a supervisor, will they fill the position with an Assistant Construction Manager (certified) or someone similar??

There are also rumors that some scary companies are gradually starting to operate behind the scenes, even among subcontractors. (Can they recruit people?)
It seems there are some subcontractors we’ve hired that are pretty scary companies. (Major ones, lol.)
It's scary, isn't it?
During my conversation with the director, he said, “As things stand now, the government will definitely not halt public investment, so I think we’ll have work for a while.”
However, even in the current situation, there is still a very real possibility that they will eventually be politically weeded out, so caution is needed.
So, we talked about how it would be a good idea to start planting the seeds now—during this busy time—to help us get through the next slow period.
It doesn't make sense to take on just anything and everything, but I think it's fine as long as it's work that contributes to the growth of our company.
We're also just steadily working on little things here and there, lol.
It really is just a matter of steady, little-by-little effort, though.
I'm hoping the seeds will sprout eventually.
However, I’ve been thinking lately that since I don’t work as a general contractor, talking to people who do is incredibly educational.
It seems that various changes are taking place in the bidding process due to legislative amendments and deregulation.
After all, people have information, and they’re willing to share it.
And there are many things I learn every day.
I’ve come to appreciate once again how valuable it is to have someone with whom I can have a heart-to-heart conversation over the phone, even when we’re not face-to-face.
Since it's Sunday, I've been working on the neighborhood bulletin since this morning lol (as part of my neighborhood duties).
It really makes me realize once again that I’ve reached that age.
