Good Companies vs. Bad Companies | How to Evaluate Construction Companies

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Major leasing company

At your company,

Is it a good company?

Is it a bad company?

I’d like to consider this from the perspective of the branch where I used to work. (Based on how I felt at the time.)

Pros

1. Major companies

2. Stability

3. Lots of classmates

4. It’s easier to reach an agreement with subcontractors

5. You don't have to worry about money (especially if you're a salaried worker)

6. It's easier to get approved for a personal loan

7. I could get approved by consumer finance companies right away (back when I was young, lol)

8. Receives a certain degree of recognition from those around them (by chance)

9. It is perceived as the company's official position, making it easier to get the opinion accepted externally.

10. Social Trust

11. There is a field allowance

12. There is a generous paid leave policy

13. There were times when I got a huge bonus.

14. The company will help me get my certification.

15. Skipping work and taking it easy at the field office

16. Pretending to be busy at work while actually taking it easy

17. Large-scale projects

18. Capable of handling large-scale projects

Cons

1. There are job transfers.

2. There are secondments. (Parent company)

3. Low pay (especially for young people)

4. There is a lot of unnecessary paperwork

5. Working Long Hours

6. Visit 2 to 3 job sites

7. In the worst-case scenario, I’ll also supervise my junior’s work on-site.

8. They won't buy utility software or the like

9. Slow approval process

10. The meeting was way too long, yet it was just a report on the field's profits.

11. I don't have time to use my paid time off

12. No bonuses (during a severe recession)

13. "Come to the office!" (Pretty standard, huh? lol)

14. It's tough juggling several small jobs that each pay less than 10 million.

15. I have to clean up after my uncle

16. Electronic submissions and CAD projects are concentrated on a single person

It actually turned out surprisingly well when I kept raising it like this, lol.

Back when I worked at a branch office. (I hear it’s even better now!)

When I start writing, I tend to focus only on the good points.

But back then, I thought it was a crappy company, lol.

Now that I've stepped back and thought about it, it's not so bad.

I think it was a good company to begin with.

In fact, if you look at major companies, there are many good ones.

No matter how much people say it's "black" or whatever, once you're actually out there, I think it's a really fortunate situation.

There's also some resentment and jealousy from people who can't get in, lol.

Some of you may actually be working at a truly exploitative company. (If that’s the case, please quit as soon as possible and move on.)

Take a step back and try writing down the pros and cons of the company you work for.

You might discover something unexpected.

Taking that step back is important—it allows you to look at yourself objectively while you’re still at that company.

What do you think?

Whether something is good or bad is mostly a matter of personal opinion, isn't it?

It's a bad company because something is making me feel bad right now.

It's a bad company because I don't like its rules.

It's a good company—as long as it suits me.

In other words, a company is a good one if it works out well for me, and a bad one if it doesn't.

I think that's fine.

The only yardstick for everything in the world is one’s own way of thinking. (I think it depends on the environment you’ve lived in and what you’ve learned.)

This is how you join a company, and this is how you leave one.

Choose

That’s actually the right way to judge whether a company is good or bad.

What matters is how it affects me.

That said, there are almost no companies that are perfect for me, though.

I used to wonder if that’s what would happen if I started my own business, but in reality, it’s turned out to be a company that works well for my employees, for me, and for society as a whole—though there are also some downsides.

It means they're two sides of the same coin.

Yin-Yang and the Five Elements

There are both good and bad sides to it.

It's a good company as long as it's well-balanced.

Come to think of it, there are a lot of great companies among the major corporations, aren't there?

How about your company?

See you later.
