The first person to install ground anchors in Japan!
That powerful phrase just came out of nowhere!!
The chairman wasn't there at the time, but I heard all sorts of interesting stories.
That was the 1970s—a time of economic prosperity, back when we weren't even born yet.
At that time, it seems they only had rotary drills and were drilling solely by rotation; later, it appears they switched to down-the-hole hammers for the anchor work.
And apparently, a revolutionary rotary percussion drilling machine has come out lol
Apparently, that led to a dramatic improvement in workability.
This happened before we were born, lol.
I hear this book describes the situation at that time.
I'm really interested in it, so I'd love to buy one if I can, but more than anything, I'd like to hear the chairman's firsthand account!
I think that hearing about and reflecting on past struggles can potentially help me apply those lessons effectively to my current work.
Past + Future = Something New
Instead of focusing only on the present, there might be some benefits to looking back at the past as well, so I’d like to meet with the president next time and hear more about various things.
But I was surprised to find out that the company that first started using ground anchor construction wasn't a major player, lol.
