Head Processing

Actually, the metal plate and wire attached to this anchor head are there to prevent accidents in the event that the prestressed steel strand breaks and flies off!

Overloaded Anchor

This means that the ground anchors installed in the existing pile frames are subjected to loads greater than anticipated and are therefore in an overloaded state.

I tried sketching it out roughly.

Install the formwork on the natural ground and set the anchors.

Assuming the ground is stable, let's say something unexpected happens.

For example, an earthquake.

In such cases, if a landslide occurs along the assumed slip line (red line), the retaining wall and the underlying rock mass will tend to slide downward.

However, since the anchor is in place, a force is applied to hold it in place.

 

This means that excessive force is applied to the anchor.

This isOverload ConditionThat's right. (A state in which the load exceeds 100% of the rated load.)

To prevent this, we have installed a cushion frame within the legal framework and installed ground anchors.

And it seems like they just handled the issue at the head end without relieving the load on the overloaded anchor.

It is likely that unloading the cargo could have placed a strain on the newly installed anchor.

Treatment of Anchor Heads Under Excessive Load

Attach a rubber sheet to a steel plate about 10 mm thick, install hole-in-anchors into the formwork, and secure it with wire.

Since a broken PC strand shoots out with tremendous force, this seems like a reasonable estimate.

 

When I see cases like this, I can’t help but think that...A tension level of about 70–80% is appropriate.I think so.

Back in the day, I hardly ever pulled 100%.

It was generally around 80%.

However, consultants these days say it's 100 percent.

 

Personally,It's safer to set it as the standby anchor at around 80%.That's what I think.

This will require consultation with the local government, but we recommend around 80%.

I believe that ensuring we can safely handle unforeseen circumstances is also part of our job.
