Adapting your ingenuity to local ground conditions creates a synergistic effect!

We recently finished a rebar installation project.

We were a second-tier subcontractor on that project, but the general contractor asked us to come up with some creative solutions, so

We proposed a 4-meter drainage borehole.

Since the frame dimensions are □300, the insertion length is 3.8 m. (The interior of the frame is lined with sprayed permeable concrete.)

This bedrock has already undergone significant weathering and consists of alternating layers of gravel and clay.

Since there was a dam right in front of us, it was a site with an abundant water supply.

 

While using deterrent measures such as steel frames and rebar insertion is a good approach,

We've added a control structure to manage water, which is the primary cause of slippage.

Use a combination of containment measures to ensure that the containment structure lasts as long as possible.

 

Even if a localized downpour were to occur, I believe the retention structure would be able to handle it without being overloaded.

Also, even if the rain turns out to be heavier than expected, these two effects combined should prevent landslides! (By reducing excess pore water pressure)

Non-Destructive Testing

We also performed a non-destructive inspection.

Although the concrete was poured just a few days ago, we verified the length of the rebar in the presence of officials from the local government.

Because it’s easy to measure, it’s highly regarded even during on-site inspections.

 

Going forward, I’m thinking we should include provisions in our technical proposals for the prime contractor’s bidding process to conduct non-destructive testing after completion.

Coupler

However, during installation,Constructed using single-piece rebarThis applies only to items that have been done.

If the parts are connected using a coupler (connector) or similar device, the ultrasonic waves will be interrupted at the coupler.

Unless you're working on a narrow lot where you have to connect the rebar, it's generally best to use single-piece rebar!

It’s also important to set up an environment that allows for follow-up inspections.
