Implementing Both COVID-19 Countermeasures and Economic Stimulus Measures | The Role of the Construction Industry

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

It's Obon during the COVID-19 pandemic—or rather, it's Obon where the (superficial) effects of COVID-19 are being widely publicized, lol.

An acquaintance of mine contracted the coronavirus, and I heard about his 12-day battle with the disease, plus an additional 72 hours.

It doesn't get much media coverage, but you can find posts online describing the symptoms of soccer players and other people.

Wuhan VirusI heard that an acquaintance of mine had a fever and a cough at night.

And as for a fever, take an antipyretic.

A cough calls for a cough suppressant.

I thought, “Isn’t this just like a cold!?” but he himself said it was just a slightly longer version of a cold.

However, it seems that some people recover completely in about a week (according to online sources), so it varies from person to person.

What's more, the person mentioned above is under 50 and has a pre-existing medical condition.

I have a friend who’s a research physician, and apparently, by the end of the year, we’ll be able to determine from a person’s DNA which types of people are more likely to develop severe symptoms. (Top Japanese universities are working around the clock to figure this out!)

So, since the risk of infection is clear, people at high risk should be even more careful—or maybe a vaccine will be available before then.

Furthermore, vaccines around the world are currently intended only for patients with severe cases, so they are not used for those with mild symptoms.

So does that mean that we, the younger generation, have no choice but to get infected and build up antibodies, in a sense?? That’s what you end up thinking, right?

What's more, if the symptoms are on par with those of a cold... then all the more so.

Since Avigan is made by Fujifilm, it won't be approved for a while (I can't go into any more detail than that lol).

However, if someone with a genetic predisposition to severe illness is nearby, it could lead to serious consequences, so it’s best to take even the smallest precautions.

So, preventive measures include things like wearing masks and using hand sanitizer.

And there's one more thing!

It boosts your immune system!

If your immune system were the strongest, you wouldn't even catch a cold, so let's work on boosting it!

I recommend this because my hay fever went away, soGut HealthThat's it!

I guess I'll just have to eat as much yogurt and natto as I can!

I eat it for breakfast and dinner!

Let's Fight the Coronavirus (Wuhan Virus) by Taking Care of Our Gut Health!

And let’s help those who are prone to serious illness build up their strength with a yogurt and natto regimen.

If all it takes is eating to stay healthy, that’s a piece of cake—I can start today or tomorrow!

Let's eat well, boost our immunity, and live a healthy life.

And if we don’t do at least something to stimulate the economy and revitalize Japan, things are going to get absolutely out of hand next year.

Will I be ruined financially, or will I die from the Wuhan flu?

The other day, during an inspection, the inspector said, “I think the number of job seekers in the construction industry will go up next year, don’t you think? Quite a few companies in other industries are going bankrupt this year, and construction companies are going bankrupt too. Layoffs will probably increase as well...”

Seriously, for an inspector over 60 to say that... I guess he's taking the stance that "it's none of my business."

To prevent that from happening, let’s tackle COVID-19 by taking care of our gut health—and keep our economic activities going full steam ahead as usual!

Let’s lead the way in driving Japan’s economy forward—we in the construction industry!

See you later.
