Lately, there's really been an increase in malicious traffic to our company's website, lol.

The chart below shows the traffic analytics data for our website.

Since our website isn't designed for an international audience, that's probably why the connection originates in the U.S.

Is it just a matter of time before our website gets hacked and vandalized too? lol

It seems I'm getting about 3,000 attacks every week—is that normal? I'm currently at about 25,000.

It seems that most visitors to our site are mainly here to download templates, and,

It also seems to be used when explaining what slope stabilization and anchor installation work entail.

And as I looked into it further, I discovered that there are quite a few people in the same situation as me.

I wonder if there's any benefit to that?? lol I can kind of see why it would make sense for banks or government agencies, though...

You never know what might happen in this world. It's a scary place.

For now, I've gone all out to strengthen security on our site.

As expected, when you’re sharing information every day, you start to become more attuned to things like this.

If this gets me hacked, I don't even care anymore lol

That said, it seems other sites out there are under even heavier attack, so ours is just the tip of the iceberg.

People often use company servers—like intranets—to prevent company information from leaking, right?

I had a bit of that at my previous company, too.

Things like "Don't bring in USB drives" or "Don't install free software."

Actually, this is a measure designed to prevent infection by information-gathering programs.

I, too, used to think that our company didn't have any documents that important.

That's certainly true.

From my perspective at the time, the document data that a regular employee like me had access to wasn't anything special.

However, hackers couldn't care less about the Excel template I created.

I couldn't care less about monthly financial statements worth tens of millions.

It's way, way further back.

Things like the company's financial situation and stuff like that.

This might be even more valuable information. I want information that can be used to blackmail companies for profit.

You know how people talk a lot about “IT literacy” these days, right?

Whether someone's IT literacy is low or high. Or if they're tech-illiterate, lol.

If it's low, it might be because you're using the same password for everything or posting it on social media.

These days, personal information is also extremely important.

I’ve been told that there have been cases where personal information wasn’t easily stolen.

It just kept spreading and spreading, and things got completely out of hand.

It’s actually incredibly easy to manipulate information online. I’m sure you’re generally aware of that.

It's the same with rumors in the neighborhood. People hear things that are completely unfounded and end up believing them.

If we don't use IT properly, malicious individuals will find endless ways to exploit it.

SoWe recommend changing your smartphone password frequently, if possible, as a precaution.That's it!

In my case, there’s a password generator website I use often, so I create my passwords there.

After all, if you decide on a password yourself, you’ll end up creating one that follows a set pattern.

So, on those kinds of sites, I use the strongest possible passwords.

People often say, “I just can’t seem to remember it,” don’t they?

That's right. It's just too much of a hassle, so I'm just sticking it somewhere to keep track of it. (The enemy of digital is analog, lol.)

Trying to memorize it is a waste of effort, so the best approach is to manage it properly and either copy and paste or type it in directly, lol.
