Does your company still use fax machines?

I think the very first thing we need to do for construction DX is to get rid of faxes, lol.

What do you all think?

These days, I find it a pain to get things via fax, lol.

I'd like to make sure data is always saved in emails, and I'd love to have thermal paper that disappears like magic, lol.

It clearly shows whether something was said or not, and you can immediately tell whether something was sent or not.

Some emails might not have been delivered, but as long as the sender receives an error message, it's not a problem, right?

That said, I do think there are some issues on the receiving end as well.

These days, you can check the contents of an email right away on your smartphone.

In a sense, we're in a position to respond immediately.

To go out of your way to send that by fax...

However, there are actually some unexpected benefits.

I've put together a list.

Advantages:

• Easy to Use: No special IT skills are required, and anyone can use it easily
• High open rate: Since it is printed on paper upon receipt, it is less likely to be overlooked and is more likely to be checked thoroughly
• High Level of Security: Since it uses telephone lines rather than the Internet, the risk of cyberattacks is low, making it suitable for sending and receiving confidential information.

Disadvantages:

• Possibility of a Transmission Error: Incorrect transmission or transmission failures may occur due to incorrect entry of numbers or equipment malfunctions.
• Incurrence of Consumables Costs: Consumables such as paper, ink, and toner are required, and costs increase with frequent use
• Barriers to Going Paperless: Since communication is primarily conducted via paper-based media, this runs counter to efforts to promote digitization and go paperless (reverse DX).

When we focus on the security aspect, data shows that more than 70 percent of businesses in the U.S. use it.

That’s just typical of the U.S., isn’t it? lol (Security is important.)

It appears that Japan's usage rate is already around 30 percent of the total.

It would be nice if they just kept disappearing, though...

It's construction DX, after all, lol.
