Tokyo is an amazing place because it has everything from the big city to the deep countryside, but I find the countryside more relaxing lol
I guess I really am a country bumpkin, lol.
But that's beside the point.
The other day, while discussing paperwork related to civil engineering and public works in Tokyo,
I was surprised to hear that Tokyo still issues documents in paper form, but,
It looks like starting this September, we'll finally be able to choose between electronic and paper submissions lol
What era are you talking about?
You might think that, but I'm talking about the present.
It seems the government officially announced this in September of this year.
So, starting with the construction work in November, we’ll basically be submitting everything electronically.
So, will that make things a lot easier? Apparently so, lol.
Why is Tokyo like this, I wonder??
Furthermore, I hear they’ll be verifying the quantities and amounts of the changes made based on the as-built inspection and cost estimation documents.

These days, inspectors licking pieces of paper... I just can't stand it, lol.
As far as I know, there aren't any other local governments doing something like this, you know?
I can't help but think something must have happened in the past, but even so, having to print it all out is a nightmare, isn't it?
Well, I hope that digital transformation in the construction industry will continue to move forward.
In the end, even though they call it “Construction DX,” the government agency that first proposed it has been constantly playing catch-up—it’s really just a case of them throwing the idea out there without any real follow-through.
While the private sector is working hard to streamline and simplify processes and is making rapid progress by leveraging IT, government agencies just never seem to change.
So, are government agencies just not motivated? Or are they not even trying to do what they said they would in the first place?
Government agencies evaluate the private sector, but since they themselves aren’t evaluated by anyone, is that why they don’t do it?
I wonder what the reality is.
I'd like to hear what government officials really have to say.

I don't know just how much further it will be simplified, but,
I’m all for improving productivity, so I’d like to keep moving forward with that.
