At Enta, we use Dropbox extensively to share internal documents and other files.

Since the photo data is also stored on a digital whiteboard, once I take the photos on site and get home, they're automatically uploaded to Dropbox via Wi-Fi.

You don't have to go through the trouble of removing the SD card or anything like that.

Also, since there's a server for the digital whiteboard, that serves as a secondary backup as well.

 

The annual maintenance fee is 115,500 yen, and you get 5T of data.

With 5 terabytes, I don't really use that much data, but it's very convenient.

Even if my hard drive crashes or something, I'm totally fine lol

What's more, since I use Dropbox even for my PC recovery backups, I can restore everything immediately if anything happens.

 

Since we started using cloud services, we haven't had any data loss at all, and we can check data on our smartphones right on-site.

It's very convenient and safe.

Of course, since security uses two-factor authentication, I think it should be pretty safe.

 

In my opinion, while major companies probably have all sorts of compliance issues,

We, as small and medium-sized independent contractors, should use cloud services.That's what I think.

It's very convenient.

Even if you have a crappy PC, you can still get by as long as you have cloud services lol

 

Basically, I upload everything to the cloud, download it only when I need it, edit it, and then upload it again.

Alternatively, you can keep it on your computer at all times and sync it whenever there are changes.

 

Before we know it, our work has become data-driven, and it simply wouldn't be possible without IT.

Heavy equipment is also evolving rapidly thanks to i-Construction.

It's only a matter of time before we start working on municipal construction projects as well.

 

It’s entirely possible that photos taken with a digital whiteboard could be automatically forwarded to government offices, where they could be used to create photo albums, and that documentation for quality control could also be automated.

We're living in an era where people are even trying to do away with personal computers.

I think you'll definitely have to use a cloud service then, so you might as well get used to it, right? lol

And above all, I recommend it because it's safe.

 

I often hear people say, “Oh, there’s been a data leak…,” and sometimes I find myself wondering, “Do they even have any data that important?” But I guess it varies from person to person.

When it comes to that kind of data, paper is the best.

If you want to keep confidential information completely secure, I guess you'd have to print it out and put it in a safe, huh? lol
