I've been overhauling the rotary percussion mechanism on my hammer for the past few days, and this brass pin is completely worn out.

The function of this pin is to attach to the shank rod inside the hammer, but I think it essentially acts like a needle bearing.

I suppose this is designed to prevent the shank rod from getting damaged and to ensure it doesn't affect the internal mechanism.

If you look closely, you can see that it's frayed, right?

Overall, it wasn't worn down that much, but this chipped part was causing trouble and had made the other parts all chipped and gouged as well.

For now, since this brass pin is important, I'll replace it with a new one.

The one on the far right is brand new.

It's sparkling clean and looks great.

I need six in total, so one by one... sak...

It's super handy to have a lathe, isn't it? lol

As I said, these items are consumables, so they can be used without any problems as long as they meet a certain level of precision.

What’s more, since construction machinery parts are often made by fitting them to the actual item and don’t require a high degree of precision, there’s a good chance we could make them ourselves, which is great.

That said, we obviously can't handle precision parts with a scale of 1/1000 or so, so we'll have to have them made for us, lol.

Since we were able to give it a thorough overhaul in the end, I think it will continue to serve us well on the job for a while.

However, this time the old Mitsui Shipbuilding 106 has returned.

The fuel filter is also worn out, so I'll replace it with an aftermarket part, and since there are other issues, I'll perform some maintenance.

I don't know anything about engines, so I'm hoping someone who knows even a little bit about diesel engines will come by lol.

Or rather, I really hope so!!!
