Since the end of last year, there has been a social media backlash in the healthcare industry.
There have been quite a few other medical-related controversies as well, lol.
Well, you'd think this has absolutely nothing to do with our industry, right?
I was talking about this with a doctor I know (Dr. T) the other day, and it really clicked for me.
As he looked at this familiar data, Mr. T said,
It seems that doctors' IQs are around 110, and apparently quite a few of them have IQs higher than that.
Among them, I get the impression that there are often more than 120 research physicians and the like.
And apparently, if it goes beyond that, you can't even have a conversation lol (Mr. T's personal opinion)
Basically, it means there are certain people who just won't listen, no matter what you say.
Of course, there are people like that in our construction industry as well.
No matter how many times I tell them, they keep making the same mistake, and no matter how many times I explain it, they just don't get it lol
When it comes to satisfying his own desires, he doesn't care if it's a crime or anything else.
Someone who only cares about themselves, as long as they're okay.
Apparently, the same goes for people who are too tall.
I think I was pretty average, since I scored just under 100 on an IQ test I took a long time ago. (Results can vary depending on the test.)
These are merely statistical figures, so I’m not saying they apply to every case.
Thinking about our industry, I feel like you see this a lot among construction consultants—like those with Professional Engineer certifications—at the top, lol.
There are people who don't know what they're talking about (I can't understand them) lol
And, there are so many of these among contractors lol
If anything, I feel like this happens more often with us contractors than with general contractors.
But the truth is, every industry has its share of troublesome people, lol.
Regardless of the industry, whether you're a prime contractor or a subcontractor, it's always a certain percentage.
Even among general contractors, there are people who make you think, “Man, I really don’t like that person…” or “I just don’t get them,” right?
You see them at government offices, too, don't you?
To general contractors as well.
It all comes down to the same thing, really.
I guess everyone, no matter what industry they're in, is carrying their own "bombs" (?) and just managing to get by, huh? lol
Hearing this story really made me realize, deep down, that it’s all about balance in the workplace.
Everyone has their own position.
How should I approach my work while keeping my role in mind?
As long as you realize that, you should be able to work comfortably.
If you fit that position perfectly.
A company and a team are made up of both their good and bad sides, aren't they?
Let's work on improving our weaknesses!
Let's keep building on our strengths!!
