What to Do Before Using Low-Quality LEDs | Safety Equipment

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

In just a little while, the construction time will drop significantly, won't it?

One thing you should start preparing for around this time is lighting.

So, the other day, I tried installing some LED lights on my crawler-type transport vehicle.

LED Light

These are yellow fog lights.

I forgot to take a picture of it when it was lit up, but it's super bright!

Fog, clouds, and other phenomena occur at the site.

In situations like that, I think yellow fog lights are easier to see—or rather, they make it easier to judge distance, which is great.

Since I bought two, I'm thinking of installing them on my crawler-type rotary percussion drill as well.

These are the fog lights I bought this time.

The IP68 waterproof rating is a real help on the job.

But honestly, I don't really expect this "Made in China?" LED to be waterproof, lol.

Water Resistance

Waterproof and dustproof ratings are indicated by the IP (International Protection) rating.

Dust Resistance

👆Dust resistance.

The higher the number, the less dust gets in.

Water Resistance

👆Waterproof performance.

The higher the number, the less water it holds.

Since these LED fog lights are IP68-rated, that makes them the best, lol.

But I get the feeling it'll probably last about a year at most.

They usually break halfway through and become unusable.

Although there are individual variations, there have been many instances in the past where water was found inside even when the product was labeled as "IP-rated."

I feel like that happens a lot—the wire gets burned through, lol (that's dangerous).

Well, since it's a cheap product, I guess it's meant to be used at that level.

If you happen to get a good one every now and then, it actually lasts quite a while.

So, before using it, take it apart once, and

Seal tightly using heat-resistant tape or similar materialIt's actually quite useful.

A common liquid gasket or similar product will suffice.

The famous spots are 👆.

Depending on the situation, they might be more expensive than low-quality LEDs, but whether or not you seal them makes a huge difference in performance, so I highly recommend them.

If you're using low-quality LEDs, make sure to carefully assess the installation location and use them appropriately lol.

See you later.
