If you specialize in mountain projects, you probably don’t see them very often, but they’re used quite a bit in retaining wall anchors for urban civil engineering projects, and they’re also used quite a bit in marine civil engineering.
I've only used this once myself.
This is the second time, lol.
This component is called a waterstop box.
If you've been in this industry for many years, there's probably nothing you don't know, but you might not actually use most of it.
If internal pressure is high during drilling, the pressure will escape toward the outside of the casing.
Pressurized water gushes up there, and at the same time, it pulls up sediment.
Since this could lead to the risk of internal collapse, construction must be carried out in such a way as to prevent the pressurized water from rising.
Using this water-stopping box minimizes the upward flow of pressurized water during drilling, thereby preventing internal collapse.
If you've never used it before, it might seem a little tricky, but it's actually no big deal.
