But that's beside the point.
As we often discuss when it comes to the head treatment in ground anchor work, the aluminum caps are filled with rust-preventive oil, right?
Did you know that rust-preventive oil can go bad?
I think I've written this before, but make sure to apply rust-preventive oil!
This is the basics.
After that, please put on aluminum caps or similar items that are completely filled with rust-preventive oil.
Otherwise, the rust-preventive oil won't adhere to the PC steel wire.
So please be sure to apply it thoroughly.
The reason is that this rust-preventive oil apparently degrades easily.
When you look at existing ground anchor installations, you’ve probably noticed those aluminum caps with liquid dripping out from underneath them, right?
That's rust-preventive oil leaking out, but if you ask what rust-preventive oil is actually made of, it's oil and soap, lol (though there are other ingredients in there too).
Only the oil has seeped out, and since the soap residue has hardened into a white crust, it will eventually rust.
You need to apply as much rust-preventive oil as possible to prevent rust from forming over the long term.
It may seem like a small thing, but it has already been proven to be quite effective, and it is recommended by various anchor manufacturers.
Don't pour rust-preventive oil—apply it!Let's use this as our foundation!
