In recent mountain conservation projects and forest management, surveying using drones has been carried out.

This is because we use a laser scanner to scan the mountain’s topography, erosion control dams (volume of deposited soil), and various other structures, and

They are investigating which mountains are dangerous. (According to an acquaintance at a major surveying company.)

So, after using that laser scanner, cleaning up the noise was a real pain, and we ended up joking, “Want to help out?” lol

"No, no—to be honest, I'm actually really interested and would love to do it, but I told them it's not possible right now!"

What's more, there's a severe shortage of technicians capable of flying drones equipped with laser scanners!

Apparently, there aren't any contractors either.

"Waaah~~~ I really want to do this~~~!!" I suppress that urge and start drilling lol

From an i-Construction perspective, this is already the mainstream.

This will become the norm from now on.

We should definitely keep rolling it out, and the pace will only accelerate going forward.

That's because 5G is coming soon. It's not five old men!

Speaking of data speeds, I'm currently on 4G LTE.

That's 5G. It's expected to be available around 2020.

And as for 5G, basically...The connection speed will be significantly fasterThat's right. (Depending on the time, circumstances, and conditions, it can be about 100 times faster than 4G.)

Since there's a delay of about 1/1000 of a second compared to real time, communication is virtually real-time....and it just happens.

It's not real, but it's almost real!

For both work-in-progress inspection and quality control, as soon as the measurements are taken, the data is sent to the terminal, and that’s it—the inspection is complete?

Is it like the photo management process is complete the moment you take a photo after measuring the flow rate and it gets uploaded to the server?

It certainly has the potential to feel that way.

By the way, it seems there have been quite a few successful trials on public roads, so the next step is probably to collect data on dangerous situations.

In any case, it looks like 5G will lead to dramatic growth in i-Construction.

I'm looking forward to what comes next. I'd like to find and develop i-Construction projects that even subcontractors can handle.
