Results of Creating a WBGT Index Table Up to 50 Degrees

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Are you taking steps to prevent heatstroke?

Heatstroke Prevention Measures

It's already so damn hot, isn't it?

I'm managing for now with my air-conditioned suit, but it's seriously hot.

Don't you think there's something off about that WBGT index chart?

The area we're working on is even hotter, isn't it? lol

So, I used AI to try making it up to 50 degrees lol

WBGT Index Table

It's also in Excel format, so if you have some free time, feel free to take a look lol

In my line of work, I've actually experienced temperatures as high as 43 degrees.

At sites with steel plates laid down, the temperature goes over 45 degrees lol

It really is the perfect griddle for making fried eggs, isn't it? lol

It's really hot.

I found out while doing some research that,

This WBGT index chart doesn't take direct sunlight or reflected heat into account!!!

What's more, there's no distinction between indoors and outdoors!!!

However, in actual field conditions, temperatures are said to be 10 to 15° higher due to direct sunlight and reflected heat (from asphalt, structures, etc.).

That means we can only use this table in our day-to-day work once we’ve added the necessary elements to it.

Of course, if the wind is blowing, it’ll be a little milder, so the minimum would be 10 degrees above that.

Since the guidelines are pretty much useless, I guess I'll just have to buy a device to measure it on-site.

WBGT Meter
I'm guessing that if we measure it normally, we'll end up with almost no work time between around 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.... lol

What I'm thinking is either reducing the construction time by one hour or starting one hour earlier.

I'd like to have a two-hour lunch break from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

You'll recover quite a bit in two hours.

Plus, you can avoid the hottest part of the day.

Anyway, afternoons on really hot days are just so tough.

I start feeling really sluggish all at once, especially around 3:00 p.m. (I might already be showing signs of heatstroke.)

Since I’ve rested for two hours, I think I can probably manage the remaining two hours, and I think my fever has gone down quite a bit.

It's that time of year when we really need to get creative or we're in trouble.

See you later.
