Water Stopping (Part 1) | Technical Explanation

Do you think it's easy to shut off a flow of water that's about eight times as strong as a regular faucet?

If you think about it normally, you'd probably think it's difficult, right?

And all this without using any medication or injections.

 

I feel a little bad that I've been posting nothing but water-stopping content lately, but it's just my current obsession lol.

Water-Stopping Packer

You'd think inflating the water-stopping packer would stop the leak, right?

But, surprisingly, it just won't stop.

Water pressure tends to concentrate in smaller areas more than you'd expect, which is exactly why it won't stop—so how do you stop it!?

 

That is

1. Start by sealing off the area from the outside.

2. The first step in water control is to collect the water.

3. Make sure to seal off any areas other than those you’ve collected. (Cure them.)

4. Ensure that no pressure is applied to areas where atmospheric pressure is low.

5. Inject a medication.

 

That's the general consensus, but the most effective method is actually number 4.

This is a natural phenomenon in which pressure tends to equalize by moving toward areas of lower pressure due to the difference in external air pressure.

So, all you have to do is make sure there's no difference in air pressure.

Simply put, it means sealing it off from the inside.

If you shut off the water from the back, the water won't realize that the water pressure is low, lol.
