Here's what the ultra-lightweight drilling rig looks like right now—next up is a test drill!

Anyway, here's how the ultra-lightweight drilling machine—which I've been working on since spring—turned out.

Please just take a moment to soak up the atmosphere.

Since this drilling machine is a portable model, that means you can take it anywhere, right?

If you take it apart, the hammer section weighs about 35 kg, and the rest is much lighter.

It weighs about 100 kg in total, so it’s a double-tube drilling machine on a scale you don’t see anywhere else lol (it would be even lighter if the guide cell were shorter).

 

That said, the hydraulic unit weighs 300 kg lol

Also, the power supply must be 200V and have a minimum capacity of at least 25 kVA.

We used a 45-kVA generator and used a thicker cable to extend the power line to the unit, which allowed us to run it 80 meters away.

The distance from the hydraulic unit to the drilling rig is 40 meters.

I think we'll be fine even if we add another 60 meters of hydraulic hose.

I'm kind of thinking that if I just top off the hydraulic fluid, it'll probably work out.

The key to a successful installation is deciding where to place the unit and how to route the hoses and cables.

 

This model is designed for a drilling diameter of φ90, but it can drill up to φ115—all you need to do is swap out the (manual) tapping attachment.

 

For now, since the system is set up to accommodate 1.5-meter casing, the guide cell is approximately 2.7 meters long.

The great thing about this machine is that you can cut the guide cell to size to fit tight spaces.

Well, I guess I just need to adjust the length of the guide cell before I start installing it, lol.

That's why one of its advantages is that it can accommodate 50 cm casings.

 

It's so light that it's hard to generate counterforce, which makes it really difficult.

I think we'll need to come up with a solution, such as driving stakes into the mountain to provide counterforce.

We haven't conducted any drilling tests yet, but we plan to try it out soon.

I'm guessing that, on soft ground, the maximum depth would be around 7 meters at most.

Honestly, that's enough already lol

After all, it's an ultra-lightweight drill, lol

For the 7-meter class, is the daily work volume just one unit? Can we do it?? Or not??

However, since it allows for reliable double-pipe drilling, I think it can be used. (In tight spaces)

 

I’m not sure how this will develop going forward, but I hope to be able to offer it to those who are interested.

I guess I'll have to do a little more testing first, lol.
