Organization and Tidiness: A Guide to the 5S Method

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Organization and Tidiness

You know what "tidying up" is, right? lol

Organizing: Sorting items into "necessary" and "unnecessary" and discarding the unnecessary ones.

Organization: Designating specific storage locations so that everyone knows exactly where things belong.

Cleaning: Keeping personal belongings and the workplace clean.

This is commonly referred to as the "3S," isn't it?

In fact, it's called the 5S program, and this"Cleanliness" and "Discipline"is added.

Are you practicing the 3S?

To be honest, I'm not very good at cleaning.

I'm good at organizing, lol.

I’m throwing away anything I haven’t used in about a year—one by one. I can throw them away.

And then there's tidying up—but that's the hard part!

I don't know what to put where.

I don't know how to make it easier to understand.

Before I know it, my desk is always covered with drawings, documents, and other papers.

Since my approach to organizing is basically all about getting rid of things, I just convert my papers to PDFs and save them on my computer.

When doing so, I’ll name the file using only the site name and a description of the data type.

Since it's a computer, you can find it right away by pressing Ctrl+F to search.

I'm throwing away all the paper. Haha.

I also make sure to always put stationery items like scissors and utility knives in the same place.

Do not place it anywhere else.

By doing that, I make sure things are always right where they should be, even without having to tidy them up.

That said, they're all just piled up in that one spot. They're not arranged neatly, lol.

There's one problem, and...My kid is taking it with him...

And then I end up not knowing where I went... lol

Just by keeping things organized, your work efficiency and motivation will improve, so let’s keep working on staying organized.

That’s what they say, but I’m going to do my best to become an adult who can keep things neat and organized, even just a little bit! lol

See you later.
