We've also recently started working at sites that follow a two-day weekend schedule and observe public holidays.

This is just my personal opinion, but so far, it's not really working out, lol.

The reason is that we don't have much time or money!

It makes me wonder if they're just stupid.

 

But even though the general contractor keeps going on and on about the construction schedule, their planning is so bad that they still have two days off a week lol.

That's hilarious lol

Is this the correct way to say "two days off a week"?

So, as for what we do here, it’s basically general office work? Maintenance?? Yeah, that’s about it.

Last time, I removed rust from the Crawler-Type Rotary Percussion 106.

We plan to remove the rust, clean it up, and repaint it.

Artisans just want to work.

I have some free time every week, so I take everything apart and clean it, right? lol

 

However, the site crew is saying we need to switch to a two-shift system because we’re running into trouble meeting the deadline if things stay as they are.

That's a good idea, but the construction period is really short, isn't it?

If we bring in two teams, they'll end up getting in each other's way, and the work will be done by around 2:00 p.m.

Can you really call it work when Team 1 works a full day and Team 2 works just a little over half a day each? Is that really efficient?

I'm just rolling my eyes, thinking, "Isn't it impossible unless we start by figuring out how to fit in two teams?? lol."

With a two-day weekend, is the construction schedule too tight to be completed under normal circumstances?

Is there a little more leeway, and is there also some wiggle room in the construction budget?

The two-day weekend pilot program is currently failing—so when will adjustments be made? (Failure isn't a bad thing.)

I haven't seen the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's operations up close recently, so I'm not really sure—what do you think?

Could someone working as a site representative for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism please tell me?

And the subcontractors are bearing the brunt of it.

The unit price is low, and the project takes so little time—it’s impossible to make a living doing this.

Eventually, subcontractors may find it increasingly difficult to take on construction projects that operate on a two-day-off-per-week schedule.

It would be a different story if the unit price were adjusted accordingly, though.

25,000 yen (standard rate) × number of Saturdays and holidays in that month × number of people = reimbursement amount (excluding expenses)

Since the prefecture and city haven't done it yet, can I go to the prefecture or city for now?

I really hope they can do something about it.

 

By the way, I’ve been in Sendai for the past few days.

Wow, Sendai is such a great place. The weather is fantastic, too! Plus, it's such a big city!

I'd love to stay and enjoy myself, but I've got work to do lol
