It's the second day of the Golden Week holiday in Reiwa Year 1.

Our company starts its long weekend today. The first group to take Golden Week off is back at work today.

That said, in my case, I’m just catching up on the backlog of estimates and cost calculations… lol

This is a hose for spray-applied materials.

And here's that pairing.

Coupling for a material hose used in spray applications.

This design hasn't changed at all since I first started working in the slope stabilization industry about 25 years ago.

 

There seem to be a few different manufacturers, but they're pretty much the same, aren't they?

Basically, secure the coupling to the rubber hose with wood screws.

Connect the couplings by tightening them with parallel-threaded screws.

 

Well, I'm not saying this is bad, but hasn't there been a lack of progress?

That's what I ended up thinking—sorry for letting my usual way of thinking make me question common sense, lol.

 

Cam locks and the like are pretty common these days, so I wonder if there's something even more convenient out there?

That's what I think.

Besides, the pressure in the spray hose isn't that high, so I think there's room for a little more improvement.

This is another area where I’d like to try some new development at some point.

 

For example, what to do if it suddenly comes off, or how to easily take it off when you want to.

I’d like to find ways to make my work a little easier and more efficient.

I think the people doing spray-on work at the slope construction company probably have some ideas.

I can't help but think, "If you'd just tell me that, we could develop it together," lol.

If slope contractors across the country can use it to make their work even a little easier and faster, their sales will go up—and that would be the best!

I'd love to make some handy tools like that for slope work.

 

Looks like development will start in Reiwa Year 1! lol

Instead of waiting for things to get fun, you should make them fun, right?
