It's still a nice time of year—just warm enough to break a light sweat—so it's easy to work.

And it’s that time of year when it’s about to get much colder, isn’t it?
Every time it gets cold, I say, “This year, I’m definitely going to do this experiment!”—and now it’s already the third year!!
That's right!

So it's an experiment with antifreeze, huh? lol
I've been saying this for three years now.
I really, really want to experiment with antifreeze, but the weather and timing just haven't worked out for me—it's been three years already, lol.
I'm really determined to make it happen this year, so I definitely want to do it.
It's a pain that so many people still think antifreeze actually works lol (not that I'm really bothered by it, though).
As I’ve mentioned many times before, adding antifreeze lowers the heat of hydration, making the mixture more prone to freezing. (There is official evidence to support this, but I can only show it to you in person.)
So, with that in mind, this year I’m planning to make the process a bit easier by mixing various types of antifreeze by hand into molds and conducting experiments in the freezer.
There are several types of antifreeze on the market, and I’m planning to try out the one typically used by us slope maintenance professionals.
Since almost no one has conducted these specific experiments with these few types of antifreeze, this is an experiment I definitely want to try.
I imagine the readers of this blog are probably looking forward to it as well.
The problem is, if I conduct the experiment on my own, there’s a very high chance people will doubt the results and ask, “Is this really true?” So I’m considering asking a public testing facility for their cooperation.
Well, I think it would be really interesting to be present for the entire process—from mixing the test materials to curing and the compressive strength test—and ultimately receive official certification from a public testing facility.
Will a shocking revelation come to light, or is everything working as it should?
According to the information I have, antifreeze is said to be ineffective—does this finding contradict that?
Experiments like this are interesting, aren't they? (I sometimes run other experiments alongside these as well—I'll share those at some point.)
