There are definitely certain types of projects that are profitable in situations like this.
Well, once I write this down, I’m sure people will think, “Well, that makes sense,” but I’ll go ahead and write it anyway.
That is,A worksite with smooth operations and few peopleThat's it.
The key on-site is to keep the number of people to a minimum!
If each person in their respective positions is doing their job thoroughly with a minimal number of staff, that team should be able to maximize its profits.
In contrast, at workplaces with too many people, each person’s tasks get spread too thin, leading to a “That guy will do it, right?” mentality, and people start passing the buck.
That is precisely why we should keep our workload to a minimum so that each person can perform their duties to the best of their ability.
The foreman gives each person precise instructions, and each person acts accordingly.
On job sites where both the anchor crews and the slope stabilization crews operate in this manner, each crew can make a good profit.
Compared to jobsites with a lot of people (like having 6 people for a job meant for 4), those with fewer people tend to have higher profit margins and are more efficient. (Based on our company’s experience, lol.)
That is precisely why foremen need to plan thoroughly so they can fully understand the situation on-site and issue clear instructions.
Planning is everything, so if you tend to forget things, just write it down on a piece of paper or save it on your phone—that should do the trick. (Though I’m the one who tends to forget things, lol.)
I believe that simply working in a way that avoids shifting blame will lead to faster personal growth, so let’s do our jobs while taking full responsibility and embracing the risks!
People who do their work reluctantly will never grow, no matter how much time passes, and they won’t earn anyone’s trust.
If you just approach your work with determination, things will look different, and the site will turn a profit, right? lol
