We recently completed drilling 105 meters of dewatering boreholes (35 meters × 3 holes).

This is the number of holes drilled in a day. I did work one hour of overtime, though lol.

To be honest, I'm not a pro when it comes to drilling operations lol (though I do do it to some extent).

Because my main job is being a director! lol (Not to mention that I'm also a company executive.)

As a professional director, he’s also a professional when it comes to observing the work of craftsmen.

I've seen all kinds of artisans.

So, I think I understand both the good and the bad points. With that in mind,

The other day, a veteran driller with 30 years of experience who came to our site to lend a hand gave me a detailed lesson on how to operate the equipment.

Pros really are amazing.

Even though I'm still a novice, I've gotten to the point where I can drill about 105 meters in about two weeks.

True professionals really are experts at teaching. (Though it depends on the person.)

Of course, factors such as the condition of the mountain and the soil type also come into play.

While some holes are easier to drill than others, the instructor still made sure to explain the key points clearly, so I feel fairly confident now.

That veteran’s teaching style also relies on numbers to a certain extent.

"Like, around 5 at that time," or "around 10 at that time," and so on.

If you imitate it faithfully, you'll start to understand to some extent why it's done that way.

I'm still just imitating things right now, but I think I'll get better once I start getting creative and going through a process of trial and error.

Well, it’s not like I need to get any better at it, though. (My main job is management and administration? lol)

I guess I should at least drill the bare essentials into my head. (As they say, "A skill can save your life," lol.)

How do you go about teaching your subordinates or junior colleagues?

Aren't you teaching by saying things like, "It's this kind of atmosphere," or "It's like this"?

When teaching, it’s easier to get your point across if you start by explaining things clearly using numbers, and then move on to the overall atmosphere and feel.
