I'm replacing the hydraulic hoses on a used core drill I recently purchased.

Hydraulic hose fittings come in two types: those with a recessed interior and those with a protruding interior.

So, I'm planning to fully restore this used machine, but for now, I'm going to change the number from 1005 to 1004.

There's no problem leaving it as is, but our machine is basically number 1004.

So, it’s just that part number 1004 is more convenient for the repair, lol. Plus, since this machine is already falling apart, I’m going to replace the whole thing to prevent clogs and such.

So, what exactly are these "No. 1005" and "No. 1004" parts? Well, the hydraulic hose shown in the photo above is No. 1005.

This is the model number of the hardware.

The one that sticks out is No. 1005, and the one that's recessed is No. 1004.

Apparently, machines in western Japan tend to use the 1004 model, while those in eastern Japan use the 1005 model lol

Well, I guess it depends on the machine manufacturer.

Hydraulic hoses are the lifeblood of machinery, so it’s definitely better to replace them all—especially on older machines.

There is a very high likelihood of a flat tire when pressure is applied.

And if there's a spare hose on site, we can replace it right away and get to work.

Since having different types of hoses can be a hassle, we've standardized them.

It takes time, but to ensure the job site is completed safely and quickly, we want to pay close attention to these details as well.
