Setting Goals on the Job (Part 1)
A Good Goal
The targets set by management tend to be quite high.
That won't work.
So, as for what height is best, it’s best to have it slightly above eye level.
For example, let's say you can install about 10 rock bolts a day.
A target of about 13 would be appropriate.
It's a goal you can achieve with just a little effort.
Shortening my lunch break a little, eating while drilling, or working a little overtime in the evening.
Because of this, some days I can make 12 bottles, while other days I only make 9.
Ultimately, this means the work can be completed using about 10 pieces.

What really matters!
When it comes to construction, it’s important to remember that faster isn’t always better.
The key is to work every day, doing as much as possible without overdoing it or slacking off.
Ideally, the amount of tidying up should be roughly the same from the start of the day to the end.
The reason is simple: it's safe!
That's the bottom line.
Safety comes first.
Good Things Happen When You Set Goals
By setting target figures for everyone—from the foreman down to the youngest workers—and ensuring they are all aware of them, everyone will have a clear understanding of the daily work volume.
Young people don't have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and how much progress is being made once they get on the job.
It just feels like it goes on forever. I get bored.
First of all, based on the current schedule—which calls for assembling ○○ meters of formwork per day and using ○○ bags of cement per day—this project will be completed in about ○○ days.
To put it bluntly, it’s clearer to just say, “If you finish it in a month, you’ll make a profit!”It really boosts my motivation.
Surprisingly, people tend to keep money matters to themselves, but it’s better to just come clean about everything.
The young workers give it their all, the supervisor gets some relief, the foreman gets pumped up, and the company stays safe and profitable.
Ultimately, it will benefit everyone.
In process management,
This will allow you to draw the banana curve in a nice, banana-shaped way.
It’s extremely important for management, and if you’re the general contractor, you can prepare thorough monthly performance reports, right?
Also, since the site supervisor and the workers share the same targets, management is easier and more straightforward.
A site representative who manages the daily construction volume, cumulative totals, and work progress while assessing the extent of delays and progress in catching up is an exceptionally capable supervisor.
There are some lousy directors who barely ever show up on set but still go around complaining about how slow things are or nitpicking over every little thing lol
In such cases, I think things will move in the right direction if the foreman or the company sets a work plan with a clear direction and specific targets.
