The spray gun I've been taking apart and servicing for the past few days is starting to look pretty good.

It looks like the liner in the lower pot is still nice and thick—that's a relief lol

Since some of you might not know, let me explain.

The mortar is mixed inside the spray machine and then sprayed.

If you continue to use it as is, it will cause holes to form in the sprayer itself.

According to the drawing above, parts 2-3 and 2-4 are steel plates called liners that protect the main body of the machine.

You need to replace and maintain this liner on a regular basis.

During the spraying process, the sand in the mortar acts as an abrasive, gradually wearing down the steel plate.

That's why we drill holes.

Isn't it interesting to think that all those tireless efforts over the years have led to the development of this kind of system for sprayers?

Actually, the main unit was already a little worn down, lol.

I guess I'll just have to make up for the thinning by adding some weld material.

We could use the other smaller bearings, but we're going to replace them all.

Bearings can wear out all at once due to even slight roughness.

So, I recommend replacing it when the time is right.

Well, since replacing the liner is the biggest part of an overhauling a gun machine, so,

As long as this is done, the rest isn't a big deal.

There aren't that many parts, so it's actually pretty easy.

By the way, if you apply rust inhibitor to the inside (the main body) before installing the liner, it will help the main body last longer.
