We've completed the installation!
Yesterday.
To cut to the chase, the pump was busted lol
This is the pump we used.
It works fine at first, but the intake tends to get clogged pretty easily.
I guess it’s inevitable since it’s meant for water, but it’s a pain when it gets clogged lol
There's room for improvement going forward, but since it's not the kind of construction method that requires that much work... it's likely we'll just leave it as is.
Also, two mixers aren't enough; ideally, we'd need three.
And the direction during mixing was important.
Once I started mixing in a diagonal pattern from left to right partway through, the stirring turned out just right.
I feel like if I had another one, it would probably melt even faster.
Looking back now, I finally understand why standard hydroseeders have a rounded bottom and blades mounted horizontally lol.
As the ingredients move downward, the horizontal blades push them upward and mix them, right?
Wow, it turns out our predecessors were thinking about this too, lol.
That said, it’s not something a small, struggling SME like ours can afford, and we can’t spend money on a construction method that isn’t widely used these days.
This is enough.
If I were to make this again, I could make a few improvements, and it would definitely turn out better, but the cost would go up a bit.
If you install it at this fiber density, it'll get clogged all the time lol
That said, since the issue this time was the pump, as long as I replaced the pump, the other things didn't bother me that much.
I thought I'd make the lid a little sturdier, lol
It's a bit of a trial-and-error process, but it's really fun.
