Hello, everyone.
This is Enta.
As the end of the year approaches, things are getting busier and more hectic.
Please be very careful while you work.
But that's beside the point.
The other day, the rotary percussion unit for the large machine was returned.
When I shake the hammer part, it rattles really badly.
So, when I checked the cam follower, I found that it wouldn't turn, had some play, and felt loose.
The hammer section is supported by four wheels (cam followers).

It rotates both when moving sideways and when drilling while moving back and forth.

Three wheels (cam followers) are used at each location.
There are 12 wheels in total.
When connecting casing during drilling, the positions sometimes do not align.
This is a situation where you can't connect the pipes unless you raise the casing.
The problem is that this wheel (cam follower) is worn out.
If there's any play, it will damage the rails.
In that case, please check this cam follower.

When you touch it, it spins around easily or feels unusually light.
This isEvidence of DamageThat's it.
This cam floor contains a rod-shaped bearing inside, and
When I try to turn it, it doesn't spin.It turns slowly.
Cam followers are subjected to impact loads and dynamic loads,
These bearings are thick-walled and highly rigid, and are designed for use in load-bearing applications.
That's why it's not exactly lightweight.
If the cam follower is light or turns easily,
If it doesn't turn or is wobbly, it's broken.
Please replace it immediately.

This is a brand-new cam follower.

There is no need to replace a cam follower that is still in good working condition.
Because this cam follower is freaking expensive! lol
Genuine parts from Japanese manufacturers cost around 5,000 yen each. (Prices vary by model.)
If I change all 12 at once... lol
We use foreign-made products at our company, lol (because they're cheap).
We keep spares on hand, so
I make sure I can replace them right away if they get worn out.
However, changing the tracks would cost an absurd amount of money, so
We should be careful about that.
See you later.
