Hello, everyone.
This is Enta.
Golden Week is over, isn't it?
I spent half my time working, half lounging around at home, half playing video games at home, and half watching movies at home.

But that's beside the point.
Regarding the treatment of rock bolt heads, do you apply sealant?
People are generally divided into those who do it and those who don't, but have you ever wondered why people do it?
I used to say things like, “Everyone else is doing it.”
Well, from the government’s perspective, isn’t following past precedents the standard approach? So it’s easy to explain.
As a supervisor, it’s easier to carry out the work in a way that’s easy to explain.
| Type | Presence or Absence of Caulking | Reason |
| Oil Cap |
有 |
Oil Spills During the Summer |
| Cap Nut | 無 | No oil |
| 有 | Water Outflow Due to Capillary Action | |
| Temporary Rock Bolts | 無 | Since it's temporary, |
The oil has been pretty thick lately, so there isn't much leaking, but there are still some spots where it's coming out.
So, where exactly should you apply caulk?
This is the outer edge of the plate.

As long as it’s securely sealed around the edges and, if possible, on the back as well, it won’t leak.
Some people put it on the cap side, but since there’s a gasket already in place, I don’t think it’s necessary as long as you tighten it securely.
In the case of cap nuts,I don't have any oil, so I don't need it.That's right.
However, in cases such as slopes with high moisture content, the cross-section of the formwork or sprayed mortar and the cross-section of the mortar used for backfilling—
Water may sometimes seep out due to capillary action.
If you're concerned, you can prevent this by applying sealant to the back of the plate and the cap nut.
This capillary action is really amazing!
Another drawback of caulking is that,Birds eat it!
Black and white ones are especially good to eat, aren't they?
It had been pecked at by crows and other birds before, so it was in tatters.
I recommend the clear one.
By the way, caulking is not included in the design.
