These are photos of a rebar insertion project that was completed quite some time ago.
I imagine that when it was first installed, the base was beautifully crafted and it looked like it fit perfectly.
However, after a certain amount of time has passed, they will inevitably crack and separate.
And eventually, they'll wear out due to vibrations and the like.
As a sign of things to come, the nut comes loose first, lol.
No way, that's ridiculous!!
I'm sure you're thinking, "But the nut comes loose," but it really does.
If the nut comes loose, the mortar on the base will come off more easily, so how can we keep the nut from coming loose!?
The order is
Nut comes loose → Crack in the mortar base → Base cracks → Base falls → Swaying...
Parts are particularly prone to loosening and coming off in areas subject to significant vibration, such as along roadsides.
That's why I think it's necessary to take measures to prevent it from coming loose.
As I've been saying for a long time, apply weather-resistant caulk to the nut area.

The photo above shows a somewhat unusual example, but both heads are wrapped in weather-resistant caulk.
By applying caulk around the inside of the nut as well—where sunlight can’t reach—it should last for quite a few years.
It's just a small idea, but I think it can be used as a creative solution.
To ensure that the nut does not come loose.

The threads on this one are pretty coarse, so it comes off easily lol
When inserting rebar, it’s best to use single-piece bars whenever possible!

The surefire way to make sure it won't come off or loosen is to secure it with adhesive or something similar!
