Don't machines tend to break down in pretty much the same way at every worksite?
The moment we moved to the next job site, the machine broke down...
I wonder what this timing is all about.

The other day, the air-feed motor on our suspended drilling machine broke down.
So, we're deploying a replacement machine to the site and retrieving the broken one.
This suspended core drill is actually pretty durable.
I guess you could say the design is simple—we’ve been using ours for the past 10 years without a single breakdown.
However, the air feed motor broke this time.
That's because I hadn't checked that part.
I’ve actually changed the oil in the gear section of this air motor quite a few times, but,
I had never opened the air motor section of the unit at all.
As you can see in the photo, it has turned black. This is a mixture of grease and iron filings.
As the grease containing iron particles circulates, it acts as an abrasive and gradually wears down bearings and other components.
Even the cylinders are being worn down little by little.
In the end, it’s just like skiing—it’s the same as skiing down a mountain you’ve never skied before.
The mountain where safety measures were taken is not slippery, but the neighboring mountain where no measures were taken is slippery.
The parts of the machine that are inspected don't break, but the parts that aren't inspected do.
It’s only natural, I suppose, but it’s still hard to accept that losses will occur.
It's just a little thing, isn't it?
Through this experience, I learned that by inspecting areas that are often overlooked (parts that are rarely opened) during routine checks, we can ensure that construction is carried out safely and reliably.
I've come to realize just how difficult it is to do the ordinary things in an ordinary way.

I'm heading to the job site starting tomorrow. I installed it on the machine without even painting it!! lol

With this, things should go smoothly on site.
