There was one like this in the photos I received the other day.
At first glance, it looks like the nut is loose, but if you look closely, there are actually two nuts, right? lol
Was it loose, so someone put it back on?
Plus, the nut on top is completely rusted, so it’s clearly not plated.
But it's interesting that the order is reversed, too.
Was this an installation error, or was it simply overlooked after the verification test?
This photo also shows that the plate and nut are missing.
If it was within reach, there's a good chance it was stolen.
As we discussed the other day, it loosens easily due to vibrations, so if you tap it lightly with a hammer, it will definitely come loose.
A rock would work too, but if you hit it, it comes loose easily, so you can steal it.
I think it's about time the manufacturer gave this some serious thought.
You don't need a head cap or a sheath.
What you need is some glue to keep it from coming off.
Maybe I'll take it off sometime!!?
Some people might say that, but in all my experience so far, that’s never happened.
When removing rebar insertion tools, we cut them all at once with a backhoe (BH).
I guess we'll just have to get creative until the manufacturer comes up with a solution?? lol
